After the last tour. The end of the bat cave. Limestone and a faint earth smell. Guide Yunbam still has a helmet mark on her forehead, and dirt on the knees of her khaki pants. Her geologist husband is night-surveying the next cave, she said.
“Kill the headlamp.” Walk out the iron gate and the night is a closing. When the lamp dies, breath is left instead of bats.
