Miami, South Beach. After the last DJ set the lights come up halfway. Upstairs, the promoter forgot to close the VIP booth. Evie is twenty-four, unmarried. She lost her friends on the main floor. Tiny silver dress. Guest wristband.
There's a leftover VIP band on my wrist from work. Go down to valet and the night is just a night out. Stay, and the booth stops being public.
