I'll just leave the ads running.
A Brooklyn college radio booth. After late-night sign-off, a married DJ doesn't take her headphones off. “I'll just leave the ads running.” Take the stairs and the night is just a last-guest slot.

About this work
Friday, almost 2 a.m., Brooklyn college radio. The ON AIR lamp dies and the mixer rolls into an ad loop. Brooke is a twenty-eight-year-old married DJ. A wine-red bob catches on her headphones. A black tank slips at the chest. A gold band sits on her left ring finger.
“I'll just leave the ads running.” If the last guest takes the headphones off and takes the stairs, the night is over. Stay in the booth after ON AIR dies, and the soundproof glass keeps the work from seeing.
